2025 was a remarkable year for MindYourPass. While cyber threats became more complex, we worked hard on solutions that make digital access security not only safer, but also more user-friendly. From small improvements to major breakthroughs – these are the developments we're most proud of.

Q1: Getting the basics right

The year started with what you might call 'housekeeping'. We fixed a number of critical bugs with hotfixes and made sure everything ran smoothly. But more importantly: we introduced functionality that many of you asked for.

With automatic account addition, you no longer need to manually enter new accounts. MindYourPass automatically detects when you create a new account and adds it directly to your vault with one click. Practical and secure.

For organizations, we launched the subscription management system in the portal. Administrators can now easily manage licenses, add or remove users, and keep track of usage within their organization.

And of course, we added TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) – because two-factor authentication has become indispensable for good security.

Q2: Smarter detection, faster invitations

In the second quarter, we focused on refinement. Third-party password manager detection was significantly improved. We developed a smart algorithm that detects the presence of third-party password managers in your organization. Why does this matter? When organizations invest in traditional password managers, they often don't know if employees actually use them. MindYourPass can now identify which password managers are installed and actively autofilling passwords. Our data shows that on average, only around 5% of employees actively use these tools – giving you concrete insight into adoption rates and ROI.

We also made teamwork easier. With the ability to invite people to a team in bulk, organizations can now give large groups of employees access all at once. No more hassle with individual invitations.

In addition, we implemented various UX improvements based on your feedback. Small adjustments that make a difference in daily use.

Q3: Insight and control

The third quarter was all about transparency and speed. We introduced the AppList with custom names and URLs, plus a handy indicator for traditional passwords. This way, you can see at a glance where you're still using old, potentially weak passwords.

Furthermore, we drastically improved import performance: where importing passwords could previously take minutes, this now happens in seconds. A difference you'll immediately notice when switching to MindYourPass or synchronizing your data.

For organizations, we launched the new assessment report – a clear dashboard that shows where security risks lie and which steps have priority.

The portal also received two important additions: dashboards per label for structured overview, helping organizations track progress for each department so they can roll out MindYourPass separately without affecting the entire organization at once. We also added the ability to import and export site classifications. This feature significantly speeds up the implementation process, especially for larger organizations.

Q4: Security and modernization

We closed the last quarter with developments that prepare us for the future of web applications. We can now detect login forms in shadow root scopes. A shadow root is a special "mini-DOM" attached to an element that isolates markup, styling, and behavior from the rest of the page—it's part of Web Components. As more websites implement sign-in forms within shadow root scopes, we're proud to say MindYourPass now has full shadow root support.

Under the hood, we carried out a major software dependencies upgrade. Not the most visible work, but essential for stability, performance, and future functionality.

And then there's team access control: administrators can now limit what team members can do within a team, preventing unauthorized changes or deletions of passwords, secure notes, TOTP codes, passkeys, and accounts. This is essential for organizations that need to comply with regulations like GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIS-2.

From Password Manager to Password Manager 2.0

These updates aren't just features - they strengthen the three pillars of MindYourPass: Measure, Improve, and Enforce. With these tools, you can now:

  • Manage your passwords faster (thanks to import performance and auto-add)
  • Get better insight into security (assessment report, third-party detection)
  • Collaborate more effectively in teams (batch invites, access control)
  • Be better protected (micro sessions, shadow root detection, TOTP)

Looking towards 2026

2025 was a year of consolidation and innovation. We listened to our users and built features that truly make an impact. With MindYourPass, you don't just have a password manager - you have a partner in digital security and compliance.

Stay tuned for what's on our roadmap for 2026!
